THERAPIES

Chiropractic Manipulation

We combine various manual adjusting techniques to realign the vertebrae and free up bony fixations.  Diversified is our technique of choice, but we also use the Activator, Thompson Drop table and SOT blocks to align the spine and pelvis.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a heating modality which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.  It provides a deep heat at the muscle-bone interface.  It aids in healing by increasing protein synthesis in the muscle.  Other benefits include reduction of pain, edema and muscle spasms.

Muscle Stimulation/Interferential Current

This therapy is an electrical modality that contracts muscles and then a relaxation phase follows.  This creates a massaging effect on the tissues and increases lymph and blood flow.

Physical Therapy Rehabilitation

Rehabilitative programs are tailored to each patient's specific problem to help restore proper functioning.  Passive, active and resistive stretches are employed to help improve flexibility.  If a joint is not flexible it can cause repetitive damage over time.  Strengthening exercises, as well as core and balance are also part of a recommended plan.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a therapy that helps treat musculoskeletal disorders by using suction to create negative pressure underneath the cup. The negative pressure helps to decompress the area by lifting the skin and the layer of tissue underneath the skin (the fascia) into the cup allowing the muscle to relax. Cupping also helps bring blood flow into the area which helps with tissue healing.

Decompression Traction

Decompression helps distract, or separate the spinal joint.  This imbibes the disc with water and nutrients, opens up the nerve spaces, and helps reduce adhesions forming between the bones.  This effect increases motion between segments, which helps to strengthen and stabilize the joint.
