Therapy for Plantar Fasciitis

The plantar fascia runs from the bottom of the heel to the toes. When it becomes inflamed, walking can be difficult (especially in the morning). Pain will be felt on the bottom of the foot, just in front of the heel (❌).

Specific exercises can be performed and are oftentimes very helpful. In the event the pain is lingering, conservative therapies can provide relief and help heal the area. The muscles in the lower leg have tendons that run into the foot and must also be incorporated into the treatment protocol!

FYI: The calf muscles are considered the “second heart” because contractions of these muscles pump blood back towards the heart. This “helper” reduces strain on the heart and keeps it from having to overwork. If these muscles have adhesions, this pumping action is restricted. Therefore it is a good practice for health and longevity to keep these muscles free from stress and adhesions.

I would love to help guide you towards health and wellness!
