Occipital Rock for Headache Relief

Pinched nerves that cause headaches are located in the upper neck just under the skull bone, or occiput. There are several smaller muscles that attach the first and second vertebrae to the occiput that can become short and tight because of our chronic head and neck positions.

Rocking the occiput on the upper cervical vertebrae can help relax the tight muscles and release pressure off of the nerves that radiate to the head.

Try this release next time you have a headache.
