Clinic Owner and Chiropractor

Hi!  My name is Ashleigh Muse.  I am the treating physician and founder of  both Chiropractic Wellness Clinic and OKC Wellness Clinics. My interest in Chiropractic began with my own plight with pain and sickness as a child. Headaches and low back pain were a normal occurrence for me. At the age of 18, I was involved in a major car accident and learned that I had a condition called spondylolytic spondylolistesis.  I basically had a fracture of my L5 vertebrae that was not caused by the wreck, but from poor posture.  I had a “sway back” and had very little core strength.  I could barely do 5 sit ups in physical conditioning class.  There were multiple times that my back “gave out” and I was dragging my leg. The pain was at times excruciating! It was real! I thought I was going to have to go through surgery in order to restore any hope of normalcy.  Thankfully, through chiropractic, yoga, and bodywork training I learned that I possessed the ability to change my condition in a natural manner, without the use of medicines or surgery.

As I continued on my quest for a healthier lifestyle, I became intrigued by how well my body responded when I fed it on a cellular level.  I realized that my chronic headaches were caused by hypoglycemia, a result of skipping meals as a form of dieting. Little did I know that starving myself and eating the wrong foods were causing my illness.  Today, I can proudly say that I live most days pain free! Stretching and exercise are part of my daily routine, as are relaxation techniques. I get plenty of water, eat clean, and allow for a good night’s rest. I do my best to surround myself with positivity and make room for regular body work to aid in eliminating stress and muscle tension.

My quest for a healthier lifestyle is what inspired me to pursue my studies in Chiropractic. I attended the University of Oklahoma for my undergraduate studies which were in Psychology. In 1997 I  received my Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, Texas. Shortly after graduating, I began to practice yoga and noticed a huge difference in my stress levels, flexibility, and posture. This furthered my inspiration to take a yoga certification program to learn the art of breathwork and asana (body posture) and gain knowledge in mindful eating and meditation. This experience sparked a self transformation that not only made me physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger, but also gave me insight on how I wanted to run my practice.

My vision was to help people heal their bodies to the best of their ability by committing to lifestyle choices that would support a healthy body and mind. With limited resources, I tapped in to my new found knowledge of health and wellness and opened a yoga studio and organic grocery store, OKC Organics.  I wanted my patients to have better accessibility to healthy foods so they could live better quality lives.  We started a fruit and vegetable co-op, selling “share bags” with recipes on how to cook the ingredients. You could say we were the “Hello Fresh” of our times.

A lot has changed, and we have since dissolved our organic food store as there is greater accessibility to healthier foods. However, many continue to suffer from chronic pain, illness, and lack quality lifestyles.

I am committed to sharing my journey to a healthy lifestyle with others and educating my patients so they can understand the root cause of their pain. Our treatment plans encourage quality living by improving posture and body mechanics as well as balanced nutrition and cleansing.

I look forward to working with you to restore health and wellness in you and your family’s lives.
